Scuba Diving & Snorkeling

Discover Scuba Diving

For the adventurous spirits out there who have always wanted to try scuba diving or discover what it’s like to breathe underwater, PADI’s Discover Scuba Diving is perfect for you. If you are not yet ready or do not have the time to commit to a full certification course, this is the program for you.

We offer this introductory PADI course off the beach right in front of the dive centre in swimming pool-like conditions.

We will send you a link so that you can register online with PADI, answer a few medical questions, and learn about the basic principles of scuba diving before you make your way to our dive centre. Upon arrival, you will try on equipment, and following a briefing by our resident instructor, you will be ready to move onto the actual diving portion of the course.

After acclimating to your new environment and once we are satisfied with your comfort underwater, you will complete a few basic skills and then go on a scuba diving tour around the bay. Your instructor will be right next to you at all times during the dive.

The Discover Scuba Diving course lasts approximately two and a half hours and provides a quick and easy introduction to the joys of diving and exploring the underwater world; it offers you the perfect opportunity to see if you want to take it further and even counts towards the PADI Open Water certification.

PADI Courses

For the more focused of you out there, we offer a variety of PADI scuba diving courses tailored to different skill levels, from beginners right up to professional divers. The PADI Open Water course is where most people begin their underwater journey and it covers everything you need to know to dive safely and confidently. The course is as much about having fun as it is about learning. You will get to experience the thrill of breathing underwater for the first time and explore new environments.
Once you have got the basics down, we offer a range of PADI Specialty courses to enhance your skills and expand your diving horizons. Have you ever fancied deep diving, underwater photography, or even night diving? There are courses for all of them! Each course is designed to provide hands-on experience under the guidance of our experienced instructor.

For those that get hooked (and trust me, it is easy to get hooked), there are advanced courses and professional certifications too. The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course takes you deeper, literally and figuratively, allowing you to explore more challenging dive sites and refine your skills. The PADI Rescue Diver course is designed to enhance your diving skills by teaching you how to prevent and manage diving emergencies; and the Master Scuba Diver certification represents the highest level of recreational diving, signifying a diver with extensive training and experience, respected by peers and dive professionals alike. If you really want to dive into the lifestyle, becoming a PADI Divemaster opens up opportunities to work in stunning locations around the globe.

In short, PADI scuba diving courses offer a fantastic way to discover the underwater world, improve your skills, and connect with a global community of peers. So why wait? Dive into adventure with a PADI course at Andros Aquatic Dive Centre, and discover a whole new world beneath the waves.

Guided Dives

Come and join us and discover how Andros is just as beautiful underwater as it is above.
During the Summer season, we go out on fun, guided dives almost every day. Only really bad weather would keep us out of the water! Fortunately, if wind and sea conditions are adverse on one side of the island, we can just make our way to the other side to enjoy the sheltered conditions there. The waters around Andros with their mild currents, fantastic visibility and warm temperatures, provide the ideal environment for scuba diving and contribute to making for an enjoyable and comfortable experience.

The variety of the multiple dive sites around Andros, with their unique character, points of interest, and marine life, make the guided dives particularly interesting. The classic Mediterranean rocky reefs that we frequent are teeming with schools of damselfish, bream, wrasses, and other gorgeous fish species. Octopuses, colourful nudibranchs, and sponges abound, and there are plenty of artifacts from Greece’s ancient past to see as well. Whichever site you go to, you will come away with cool memories of fun diving with Andros Aquatic Dive Centre. Our groups are usually very small and are always guided by an experienced instructor who knows the sites around Andros like the back of his hand. So what are you waiting for? Come and join in the fun!

Snorkeling offers the simple joy of exploring this vibrant environment with minimum equipment, providing a sense of freedom and ease. The PADI Advanced Snorkeler course enhances these experiences by teaching updated techniques for better buoyancy control, breath-hold skills, and safety practices. No previous experience is needed and almost anyone can take the course so long as they feel comfortable in the water and have adequate swimming skills. * Established guidelines recommend that after a single no-decompression dive, divers should wait at least 12 hours before flying. For multiple dives or multiple days of diving, the recommended wait time is 18 hours. These guidelines help minimize the risk of decompression sickness, which can be exacerbated by the reduced atmospheric pressure in an airplane cabin. Following these recommendations ensures a safer diving and travel experience.
